Squeezing and entanglement of atomic beams.
We propose and analyze a scheme for generating entangled atomic beams out of a Bose-Einstein condensate using spin-exchanging collisions. In particular, we show how to create both atomic squeezed states and entangled states of pairs of atoms.

A light beam is said to be position squeezed if its position can be determined to an accuracy beyond the standard quantum limit. We identify the position and momentum observables for bright optical beams and show that position and momentum entanglement can be generated by interfering two position, or momentum, squeezed beams on a beam splitter. The position and momentum measurements of these be...

We study entanglement and squeezing of a cluster of spin systems under the influence of the two-axis countertwisting Hamiltonian. The squeezing parameters given by Wineland et al and also by Kitagawa et al. are chosen as the criteria of spin squeezing. The criterion of pairwise entanglement is chosen to be the concurrence and that of the bipartite entanglement the linear entropy. We also define...

corresponds to interaction with external coherent field. We assume here that the nonlinearity constants χ , characterizing three oscillators, are identical. Moreover, interaction strengths between modes 1− 2 and 2− 3 are described by the same parameter ǫ, whereas external excitations in the modes 1 and 3 by α. We show that for weak excitation regime, our model behaves as three–mode nonlinear qu...
متن کاملEntanglement and extreme spin squeezing.
For any mean value of a Cartesian component of a spin vector we identify the smallest possible uncertainty in any of the orthogonal components. The corresponding states are optimal for spectroscopy and atomic clocks. We show that the results for different spin J can be used to identify entanglement and to quantify the depth of entanglement in systems with many particles. With the procedure deve...
